PARENTS-PLEASE READ THIS!
The PVMS PTO Raffle and Homeroom Baskets:
In lieu of door-to-door selling, we hold a Raffle (Formerly called the Chinese Auction).
We solicit prizes from businesses, organizations, and our families.
Each child in the Middle School is asked to participate by donating to a homeroom basket.
The theme for the basket is chosen by the homeroom students, and then each student is asked to bring
in a new item that fits into that theme.
The student may also choose to bring a monetary donation to their homeroom teacher, and the
homeroom teacher will use the funds to “top” off the basket.
In the past few years, we have had more and more students who do not participate in this basket
project. We hope that you, as parents, realize what your donation of a few dollars, or having your child
pick out an item for the basket, contributes to the event (and teaches your child about the importance of
teamwork and volunteering).
This event began in 2004 and has raised thousands of dollars. The funds raised have all gone back into the Middle School.
